And it begins...

Today was the first day a couple of our crew members came out to check the status of all the features, determine which ones withstood the beatings everyone unleashed on them last season, and begin the repair/repaint/refurbish process for next season. Looks like the majority of our features held up very well, I mean, after all they are made out of wood....real sturdy. Both Ric "Fish" Wilkinson and Tyler Atkins were on hand today to help drag all the features out from the back of our parking lot/storage area where we can get some work done on them. Side note to anyone who might be moving objects that have been sitting in the back of a parking lot for 4 months - Watch out for hornets! The very first feature we tried to move, a C-Box, was at the time home to a huge nest of ill-tempered mutant hornets , who were not happy to see us in the least. They got Fish a few times, once in the neck, arm, and pinky, and man did the stings start swelling! The hornets won that battle, but we returned shortly after with 3 cans of industrial strength wasp and hornet killer and reclaimed our C-Box. After this initial incident, everything rolled along very smoothly, and we were able to get all of the old features out on the grass, set up and ready to be worked on. All in all, it was a good first day back.

Check the swelling, the hornets were not messing around...

A few of the features ready for some grinding and a fresh coat of paint

De-paneling and Topsheeting the Kicker Box...We've got some good ideas for this guy next year...

Gettin' it done
