App Terrain Park hopes everyone is enjoying a safe and fun spring season. The snow is gone, the grass is growing, all the features have been put away for the summer, and the countdown has begun for next season.

As always, we have been contemplating whats next for ATP. We feel that our work is never done, and already have lots of plans in store for improvements coming into next season. We would like to get some honest feedback from all of our riders to help us decide and prioritize what we can accomplish and create for the 2010-11 winter.

And that does it for another amazing season at ATP. This winter was definitely one to remember, all the cold weather and snowfall had people wondering if spring would ever come, and then the warm temps came quick and turned winter straight to summer.

The weather ended up being perfect to host our Games April 10th and 11th - a full 10 days later than ever before in ASMs 48 year history. The crew worked through the massive amount of melt that happens when you get temperatures in the 80s for days on end, and still had the Appal Jam and Appaljack Terrain Parks up and running.

Winter isn’t over until we say it is. Come enjoy Appalachian’s classic end of the winter celebration later than ever before, on Saturday, April 10 & Sunday, April 11, 2010. A full weekend of crazy events you won’t see any other time of the year, with lots of snow, sun, and skin.

ATP has been keeping the setups in all parks going strong despite rediculously warm temps over the past few weeks. The abundant sunshine and super warm temps have made for some amazingly fun park sessions.

The Recess Rail Jam has been rescheduled and will now go down this Saturday, March 27. As always, the weather has been a bit tricky the past few weeks, and Saturday looks like the one sunny day in the middle of lots of rain. We all know events are no fun if its pouring out, so Saturday is the natural alternative.

The setup will be in the Appaljack Terrain Park, and will highlight some intermediate and advanced rails, most if not all setup handrail style.

Lots of Cash and lots of prizes are up for grabs in this new event with a unique format unlike any other in the region.

ATPs slopestyle finals will take place on SATURDAY, March 20th - the original scheduled date!

The slopestyle finals will conclude an amazing series, and bring together elements from both previous shred events, allowing riders to link up their rail and jump tricks in one solid line down the Appal Jam and Candied Appal Terrain Parks.

This SFTC event will be dedicated to Kyle West - one of App Terrain Parks loyal shredders who has recently been diagnosed with Leukemia. We will be selling raffle ticket donations for Kyle during registration for a chance to win some great prizes that will be raffled off after awards thanks to our event sponsors. All funds from the raffle will go to help the West family, and Appalachian Ski Mtn. will match the collective donations up to $500. Everyone keep Kyle and his family in your thoughts.

Join us at ATP for the final Fresh Friday event of the season! The crew will be working hard all week to bring 3 brand new features never seen before. The theme this week is combo-mania - and all the new setups will consist of multiple features linked up for all sorts of options.

As always, the event is completely free with purchase of a ski ticket, and Recess Ride Shop will be on hand awarding lots of prizes to standouts from the session, as well as raffle winners.

Get ready for a weekend full of fun events at ATP - with Ladies Park Night Saturday night, and the Shred for the Cup Rail Jam on Sunday.

The weather looks great again this weekend, and ATP has some great plans in store for the event setups.  Special Guest Rider and Judge Meg Pugh will be around this weekend as well, helping with the setup and checking out the scene down south.

Meg made the switch from skis to a snowboard at the age of 19, when she moved from Sunnyvale, CA to Tahoe. Ever since that switch, her dedication, her passion and her shred was on! Meg made her first appearance at Nationals that same year and many seasons later became USASA Halfpipe National Champion! Her dream has taken her to different countries and all over the US. She has won Quarterpipe Championships, highest airs, placed 3rd in the World Superpipe Championships, competed in the x-games (3 times),5th place at the Vans Cup,started up a successful resort snowboard team, coached summer camps,designed and produced pro-model products.
