SFTC GNU/Libtech Big Air Recap

The Shred for the Cup GNU/Libtech Big Air is in the books for 2013!

It is safe to say the setup was the biggest, best, most progressive in ATP’s 7 yr SFTC history, with well designed jumps for beginner shredders up to the most advanced riders. The crew worked hard the week before to make sure all landings were long, consistent, and matched well with their respective takeoffs. All the riding throughout the day was equally as impressive. Around 80 competitors came out for the event and they all came to throw down. It was great to see all sized jumps getting hit constantly with a huge variety of tricks from beginner to advanced.

The morning started off with a bit of hanging fog, which quickly burnt off as the riders began getting plenty of warm-ups in until Noon.

The comp got underway right before 1pm with Beginner Ski & Snowboard, followed by Women, then into Intermediate Ski & Snowboard, and wrapped up with Advanced putting on a show for the crowd of spectators down at the large jump. Big ole’ spins, switch takeoffs, and tons of style were the regular it seemed – for all categories.

Awards followed on the snow immediately after the Advanced rider’s last drop, and winners were hooked up with all sorts of prizes from GNU / Libtech – huge thanks to them for stepping up and providing tons of goods!
